Ghost Hunting With…McFly Interview Taking a trip into the deepest, darkest places in Northumberland, the world's foremost ghost hunter, Yvette Fielding and pop punksters, Mcfly prepare to delve into the spooky unknown! Join the band and their ghost hunting guide as they prepare to face their most frightening fears. Ghost Hunting With…McFly is brand new and exclusive to ITV2, Tuesday 23 October at 9pm. Here is how the boys found the whole experience……… Why did you want to take part in the show? Tom: We thought it would be fun…….we were wrong! Dougie: I didn't Had you experienced any paranormal activity before you took part in the show? Tom: No, not really. Harry saw a ghost once, and Dougie and I saw a UFO. Dougie: I once saw the ghost of a cat's bum. Danny: No never. Dougie, you seemed to be the most scared during the trip. Did you anticipate this? Dougie: Well, I bought 10 pairs of boxers in case. What was the scariest location you visited and why? Tom: The mine - it was pitch black, wet and underground. Dougie: The mine, because it was cold damp and very dark. Harry: The castle, because it felt like we were in a real horror movie. Danny: I think it was when I was in the hut in the forest on my own, I shat myself! What was the most positive part of the show for you? Tom: When it was over and we got back to the hotel. Dougie: None of it. Harry: Taking part in everything that I was asked to. Danny: When Dougie ran into the wall in the lead mine. Was there any part during the experience where you nearly walked out? Tom: No, I wanted to finish the night. Dougie: The whole thing. Harry: Yes, once. Danny: No, I wanted to go through with it all. Tell me about the Ouija board experience? Tom: The Ouija board wasn't so bad, it was the stones being thrown at us that was f*cking scary!! Dougie: It sucked, I crapped my pants. Danny: Scary. How did you find working with Yvette? Tom: She was very nice in the end. Weird, but nice. Dougie: I think she's a witch and she keeps trolls locked up in her house. Harry: She was great fun, awesome. Tom - When at the castle you felt like you were being pushed. Why did you not tell Yvette about this as it was happening? Tom - It was weird, but I wanted to be pushed harder and I thought if I told someone about it, it might stop. Are you glad you took part in the show? Tom: Yes. Dougie: No. Harry: Definitely. Danny: Very glad, it was a great experience and I would love to do it again. Do you now believe there is something out there? Tom: Maybe…..we'll have to come back and do it again to find out. Dougie: Yes. Harry: Definitely. Danny: Something! Don't know what though? Have you had any further paranormal experiences since taking part in the show? Tom - Not yet. Dougie: I keep feeling someone touching my bum, but I think it's Tom! Harry: Dougie is a paranormal experience! Finally, why should ITV2 viewers watch your show? Tom: If you wanna see four wimps completely shitting themselves and running around in the dark for an hour, whilst having ghosts throw rocks at them, then this is the show for you. Ghostbusters eat your hearts out! Dougie: If you like watching cocky losers soil their pants and cry like babies, this show is for you! Danny: Because it's the best one yet! |

What’s so special about McFly?... ADORED by their millions of fans, McFly are returning to Ipswich tonight. Entertainments reporter JAMES MARSTON asks what's so special about McFly? SCREAMING fans must be something you get used to. For McFly, popularity has never been a problem and today, as they prepare to sell out once again at Ipswich's Regent theatre they can rest assured they will make a lot of young people very, very happy. But why are a group of four lads commanding such attention? Have they just been cleverly marketed or is their talent lurking beneath the hype? Hazel Clover, manager at the Regent said: "Of course they are a bunch of good looking young lads and that's always popular with female audiences. They always sell out the Regent and have been continually well received here in Ipswich. The audience is always a mixed bag and McFly appeal across the ages. "McFly have maintained their appeal and are a band of the moment." Miss Clover said the four strong group are friendly and easy to work with. She added: "They give a lot to their fans and they are a group of very pleasant young men. They make themselves accessible. It is always a fantastic atmosphere when they come to the Regent, we are lucky to have them here. The group was first launched into the music scene in early 2004 with their number one single, Five Colours in Her Hair. Founded by Tom Fletcher the band also consists of Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd. McFly has enjoyed a string of hits in both the singles and album charts and next month they are due to release their greatest hits album. Hazel said: "They play their own instruments and they are a talented group. They are great performers and they really entertain and involve the audience. Their act is vibrant, exciting and colourful." McFly is expected to rock The Regent with their catchy songs and high energy pop act, Tom recently said: "There's nothing like us around. People need pop music. We've stuck around, we've stuck through this bad time for pop music and our fans have stuck with us. Now we're back, doing exactly what we want to do. It really feels like this is what we should be doing." Fans will readily agree. |

Danny in Heat Magazine + scan Where did you wake up this morning? In my own bed, naked, with my tour manager knocking on my door because I was late. So I didn't have a shower or clean my teeth. I went straight downstairs and jumped into the car and fell back to sleep. Who did you last receive a text from and what did it say? It was from my sister, asking if I wanted to go to a Melanie (ancient US singer/songwriter) concert. Apart from your home and car, what is the most expensive thing you've ever bought? My recording studio. I run one of my own. The whole thing came to about 15 grand. What do you most dislike about yourself? The thing I hate most about myself is my mouth. And my ***. I've got freckles on my ***. Only a few, some pimples too. I should go on the sunbed, but that might make them worse. Enough said. When was the last time you cried? I think the last time I cried was watching Blood Diamond. I don't often go to the cinema but I loved it. I was in the moment. What was the last lie you told? I told Dougie he was very good looking last week. And he's not. [Laughs.] When were you last naked in front of another person? It was in front of Flea, Dougie's dog. And Dougie. I'm always naked in front of Dougie - I don't know why. Oh, and Gordon Brown when he was on tv this morning. If you were invisible for a day, what would be the first thing you'd do? I'd go into the Houses Of Parliament and see what really goes on. Then I could maybe scare Gordon Brown in person. What's been the most embarrassing moment of your life? I don't really get embarrassed for myself, but I was embarrassed for Harry when he fell off stage. That made me go very red...for him. Ever been chatted up by another celeb? I never get chatted up by celebrities because no one really fancies me! Bring it on, ladies! Oh, I did by the gay lad off Shipwrecked, Joe Stone. It was in Funky Buddha. He was being a bit flirty...

McFly rock the Regent McFly, Ipswich Regent, October 15 WHEN it comes to music everyone has their guilty pleasures - the band you know you shouldn't really like but can't help singing along to. Rather embarrassingly, given that I'm a 25-year-old man and not a screaming teenage girl, Mcfly would come pretty close to the top of that list for me. While I can't confess to actually owning any of their work I have to admit they do what they do - probably best described as a guitar-based mixture of pop, rock and punk - extremely well. That was certainly the case last night when the four lads, Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd, thrilled hundreds of fans at a sold-out Ipswich Regent with a characteristically energetic performance. The band were back in town as part of their Greatest Hits tour - rather surprising you might think given they've only been going since 2004. But with 12 top ten singles, including seven number ones, and three multi-million selling albums there is definitely enough material to go around. From the moment they bounded on stage and broke into opening track That Girl, it was clear we were in for a good time. Stopping briefly to say hello to Harry's dad, who was hidden away among the throng of ecstatic teenage girl fans, they then launched into a string of hits, including the raucous Friday Night, 2004's Obviously and the foot-stomping Star Girl. Half an hour in, they whipped the crowd into an even bigger frenzy with new single The Heart Never Lies, and a fantastic version of Rhianna's summer hit Umbrella. This was followed by All About You, Please Please and Room on The Third Floor, which threatened to blow the roof off the newly-refurbished theatre. An encore of Don't Stop Me Now and their debut hit Five Colours in Her Hair ensured no-one went home disappointed. Unfortunately it looks like I'll be singing their songs for a little while longer. |

60 Second Interview with Tom Tom Fletcher is one of the chirpy frontmen with lovable pop goons McFly. He went to Sylvia Young Theatre School before failing to join Busted and forming McFly Instead. McFlys Greatest Hits is out next month and the new single The Heart Never Lies is out on Monday. McFly present the Nickelodean awards on October 27 on Nickelodean Tom Fletcher You're presenting a children;s awards show. Don't want to do more grown-up stuff? Its not like a so-called cool awards show, more about having a laugh. They do it in America and no one cares thats it's for children. They just do it for fun. Most of our fans are aged 16 to 20 anyway. Charlie left Busted to do something more credible. Will you do the same thing to McFly? No, we're all happy in McFly. i just don't think he was happy in Busted. We don't have people writing songs for us or telling us we have to do pop stuff. If we want to change, it's on out power to do so What's the weirdest thing a fan's done to meet you? It's always a shock when they come all the way from smewhere like Japan. They spent all their money on plane tickets and hotels just to see us on tour. That's nuts. we used to get girls climbing up the drainpipe as well when we used to live together. We all lived in the same house for the first two years and you'd get girls trying to climb in the windows. Was it a nuisance? Yes, it was a pain in the *** when we were trying to watch TV. We got rid of them by shooting them with paintball guns. You could have had someone's eye out. No,they were only the spring-loaded ones. It was a good way of getting them out. We were good shots. What has been your most extravant purchase? My house How many toilets do you have? Quite a few. Not more then ten though. I think i've got five. Not too many. I've got quite a few guitars, it;s part of the job. I just buy guitars when i feel like having a newq one. I bought quite a few when we started but now i'm down to one a year. My favourite is my wine-red Les Paul. It's the nicest to play. What is the strangest gig you've donw? Getting our clothes off at G.A.Y. It was a bet with Jeremy, who runs it. He said if we were number ne we'd have to take our clothes off and it turned out we were number one that week. We didn't really have a choice. He supplied us with plenty of alcohol in advance. It went down quite well with the crowd. What was you;r last dream about? I woke up singing That's Thw Way I Like It. I thought i was hearing it on the TV but i woke up singing it. That was weired I've never woken up singing before. Have you ever done a really loud fart in puplic? All the time. I've got no problem with it. We all try to pop them out whenever we can if we're in company and then blame it on the others. If we;re being interviewed it's funny. Or in a lift. What are the highs and lows of going to a stage school? There aren;t any lows. i had an amazing time. i had the best time of my life there. It was better than going to the s***ty school round the corner from me, Only having to do maths three says a week was good. We sang and acted on the othe two. there were only 150 kids in my school, so you know everyone. It's like a big family and the teachers were really nice. You were in the film Just My Luck with Lindsay Lohan. Why haven't you gone mad like she has? We keep each other grounded. That was our first experiance of being around someone really famous. That whole Hollywood It-girl lifestyle is insane. We're not really into the whole celeb thing either. We like chilling out at home and going to our local pubs rather then the clubs in London. Doing a film was an amazing experience, though we couldn't say no. Did you send any get well cards to her in rehab? No, we haven't seen her since the film premiere, i don't know if we did anything to upset her. |

McFLY Star on Night with Lindsey Harry Vows No More Dates With Hollywood Celebs Like Lindsay MCFLY'S Harry Judd reckons his one-night stand with Lindsay Lohan was enough to put him off celebrity dating for life. Harry boasted about spending the night with Lindsay in her hotel room after his band appeared in her movie Just My Luck. But despite the boost to his profile, the 21-year-old drummer insists he and bandmates Danny Jones, Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter now stay well away from famous party girls like Lindsay. Harry said: "I have definitely not had any more celebrity dating encounters, I'm afraid not - it put me off the whole thing. "We still meet some cool people, of course but the whole celebrity thing does not bother us any more. "We like meeting people we respect, who are good at what they do. We don't really get starstruck any more - we now realise celebrities are just normal people. "To be honest we are a bit jaded with that whole thing really." McFly's greatest hits tour is headed for Scotland for dates at Glasgow's SECC and Aberdeen's AECC on November 26 and 27. But Harry is keen to look ahead to the band's next studio album rather than dwell on the past. And the punk-loving drummer admits his hopes for a change of direction could come as a shock to fans as the band outgrow their teen-pop roots. "This is just a collection of our songs so far - it's possibly a good chance for us to change things but we have to be careful. "We are planning to record in February so it's a case of seeing what happens. "I don't know about direction yet but we always try to move forward. I have always had edgier tastes anyway but I enjoy being in a band and going along with things. Now everyone wants to move on a bit and do some slightly different stuff." While the band are celebrating success again thanks to the greatest hits album, they have managed to avoid the split rumours which usually accompany such records. But Harry feels their obvious enthusiasm shows fans they are in it for the long run - unlike many of their contemporaries. He said: "Doing a greatest hits album doesn't mean what it used to - it's just a round-up of the songs so far. "We don't want people to think we are breaking up so it is quite important to follow it up quickly with a new album. "We have had three albums and seven No.1s so this album is a collection of those songs - if we do a greatest hits in 10 years that will be a proper one." |

I’m Going To Find The New McFLY!-Tom Interview TOM Fletcher is itching to extend his talents beyond McFly – to find a new, all-conquering pop group to write for. The singer has already penned an impressive seven No 1 hits at just 22 years of age. And now he is keen to share his catchy tunes with other acts and also write with established artists. Tom told me: "I'd love to put a band together and write for them, plus other artists. "I've got so many songs already that aren't right for us. My publisher is always asking me to send stuff but I never put my songs out there and tend to concentrate on McFly. "When Busted were around, James Bourne and I had a wicked business going on writing together for both them and us. "There's not been a good new boyband for ages and our management are always looking for people – so I'll definitely get involved if we can find the right talent." McFly's new single, The Heart Never Lies, looks set to chart at No 3 this weekend behind Take That and Leona Lewis, 22, who has already notched up more than 150,000 sales. Tom is thrilled to see pop thriving again, with Sugababes and Britney, 25, also set for the top five. He added: "I'm shocked so much pop is around and excited about how things are going – it's about bloody time. "Leona has an awesome song and it's wicked they've taken the time to get her sound right. She's amazing. "I want to go and see Take That's new tour. I saw them once before at Wembley and they were excellent. "I'd love to write with Gary Barlow – a real dream come true." With their Greatest Hits out on November 5, and McFly touring the UK, Tom says: "It'll be nice to draw a line under this part of our career and move on to the next chapter." --> --> |

TCT fund is backed by McFly’s Harry HARRY Judd is keen to drum up support for our campaign to raise £1 million for a Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) unit. The 21-year-old drummer has been crisscrossing the country this week signing copies of McFly's Greatest Hits album with fellow band members Tom Fletcher, Dougie Poynter and Danny Jones. ..> Pop sensation McFly's Harry Judd is supporting our £1 million appeal for a new teenager cancer unit in Cambridge..> Pop sensation McFly's Harry Judd is supporting our £1 million appeal for a new teenager cancer unit in Cambridge He took time out from his hectic schedule to tell the News why he is backing our £1 million appeal to create a specialist TCT unit at Addenbrooke's Hospital. And he knows a thing or two about the expert care cancer patients receive at the hospital - Harry's best friend was successfully treated there for leukaemia. Harry says: "I was a patient there too, it was appendicitis but that was quite a few years ago. "But my main connection is that my best friend, James Gardiner, who is still my best friend, was treated there for leukaemia when he was 12. "I was 11 or 12 and I would visit him in the children's ward. I remember my dad telling me about cancer and I slowly understood what was going on. "James was amazing, he was so brave. It made me realise how lucky I was and it made me more brave when I was sick. "He had lots of chemotherapy and one main operation to remove a tumour. There was one slight scare but he recovered. He is now 21 and at university." Harry got involved with the TCT through playing for the Bunburys celebrity cricket team. He was invited to play for the TCT team and has captained them in their annual match with the Bunburys for the past two years. He has committed himself to run 26 gruelling miles in next year's London Marathon in March to boost the TCT's fundraising appeal. Harry, originally from near Saffron Walden, now lives in north London while his family live in Suffolk. Cancer patients aged between 13 and 22 from across East Anglia will benefit from the new TCT unit in Cambridge that will cost £2 million. In our appeal, backed our charity Press Relief, we are asking the generous News' readers to dig deep to help raise half that amount. Design of the TCT unit is underway, building work is due to start in the spring and the unit, which will treat 10 patients, should be complete by autumn 2008. Harry says that during the band's fouryear career they have met some "amazing kids" who have endured serious illness. He says: "It's really grounding. People like myself are so fortunate not to have suffered like that." He believes that a specialist unit is needed for teenagers so they can have their own space during a difficult time. He is asking readers to dig deep to back our appeal. He says: "It's amazing what a lot of teenagers go through. It's tough enough going into your teens without having to go through something like that. "From personal experience I know what my friend went through. This is something I feel passionate about and will continue to support." |

McFLY Working With Green Day Producer It was McFly mania in Manchester last night as fans of the chart-topping band stopped traffic when they came out in droves to see two of the band at a Manchester city centre record store. One thousand lucky young girl fans managed to bag a coveted coloured wrist-band which entitled them to get into the Arndale Centre's Zavvi record store (formerly Virgin megastore) to catch a glimpse of Danny and Dougie signing copies of their new record But demand was so massive that organisers say they could have easily given away up to 4,000 wristbands - and the clamour to see them resulted in hordes of fans sleeping outside overnight to be certain of meeting the chart-toppers. Bolton-born McFly singer/guitarist Danny revealed afterwards that their music is about to take a new direction. So, while they've been the apple of their girl fans' pop-picking eyes for the best part of three years now - expect a sea-change in style more in keeping with a band which is clearly now in the throes of musical adulthood. Danny tells me they have even employed a producer who worked with American punk band Green Day to give their new music a fuller rock sound. The first sign of that collaboration is in the band's new single The Heart Never Lies and Danny couldn't be happier with the results. "We were really pleased when the record company decided to release that track as a single because although we loved the song we really didn't think they would like it. We thought it may be a bit too different from our established style for them. But the record company loved it and we were delighted when they told us they were going to release it. We had a guy who worked with Green Day mix the track because we wanted more bottom end so it felt rockier. We wanted some `oomph' behind it and we definitely got that. I love playing it live too because it gives me a chance to give the guitar a good old thrash." It certainly didn't seem to affect the band's popularity among the loyal army of fans who turned out to pack the basement venue at the newly named Zavvi store yesterday evening. A spokesman tells me: "It was pandemonium - if there had been room we would have had about four times that number inside the venue. We didn't expect that many people. We were taken aback." |

New Dougie Interview with Digital Spy Those McFly boys are awfully hardworking aren't they? After releasing three albums in as many years, scoring more top ten hits than the Spice Girls in the process, they're currently touring the nation's enormodromes in support of their Greatest Hits collection. We called Dougie Poynter, the band's bassist/most fanciable member, to discuss the tour, the band's future and - eek! - what it's like setting fire to your pubic hair. The trick, apparently, is to "always keep moving". How's the tour going? Are you getting tired yet? "Great thanks. We change the songs around quite a bit, so it never really gets tiring. It can get a little tiring rehearsing all the time, but playing the songs live in front of fans is never, ever boring." We recently saw you getting naked at G-A-Y... "Again!" What it is about that place that compels you to take your clothes off? "I think it's the dirty, gritty, homosexual vibe of it. It just makes us think 'We've got to get our clothes off'. So we do." Have you ever remained fully-clothed all through a gig there? "One time I did stay fully-clothed, but I was dressed as a woman, so I still made the effort, you know. Maybe it's time for someone else to have a go at getting naked there?" Girls Aloud, perhaps? "Who knows, maybe they'll feel the vibe?" You're currently promoting your Greatest Hits album. What made you decide to release it at this moment in time? "It wasn't really our decision. It's in our record contract that they can release a greatest hits whenever they want, so we figured that if we're going to do it, we might as well get 100% behind it." If it had been up to you, would you have chosen to release it now? "No, not really. I'm not angry about it, but I'd rather have released one more album and then done a greatest hits album. It would have made for a better mix of songs. After just three albums, it does feel very soon and you do get a lot of people thinking that we're going to split up now. It is a little frustrating." Is it hard to get as excited about a greatest hits album? "It's not as exciting as when you've got a new album out, no, because there's not much to it. When you've got a new album coming out, you get really excited about the artwork and stuff like that. With the hits album, we were like 'Oh, just do whatever'. There's just no creative process involved in it." Is there going to be a second single from Greatest Hits? "There was going to be, but there isn't now." How's work going on your fourth studio album? "We've already started thinking about it. We've started writing and we're going out to Australia to record it in January. We've all started writing individually, but we haven't pooled all our ideas together yet." How's it shaping up? "I think it's just going to be natural. We are getting older, so it's natural that we will progress, but at the same time we don't want to mature too quickly. Otherwise, what would happen when we get to our seventh album?" Why have you decided to record the album in Australia? "Well, it doesn't really cost that much more because recording in London is so expensive. Plus, there won't be any distractions. It will just create a really nice vibe - everyone's really looking forward to going out there." Do you get a break from each other between albums? "Yeah, it's really important that we get our own space, because we're up each others' a**ses all the time." Would you ever take a break from the band to make a solo album? "I don't think any of us would. Danny's the only one who's really got the potential to do it, but we do all kind of need each other. We're a unit." Are you enjoying the popstar lifestyle as much as when you first started? "It's much better now. I met these dudes when I was 15, and I'm 20 soon, so I've pretty much grown up with them. You know, Harry taught me how to shave and how to drive. They're like my brothers." Have you changed much after three-and-a-half years of pop stardom? "I've changed quite a bit - not in a bad way - but I would have been a completely different person if I wasn't doing this. I'm really arrogant and I go around saying 'Do you know how I am?' No, only joking! Well, I guess I wouldn't have lit my pubes onstage if I hadn't been in the band." Were you nervous before you did it? "Nah, I've done it before, but in a hotel. Luckily I've got a very big, thick bush that's very easy to light. As long as I always keep moving, it doesn't burn. And fire goes up, you know!" |
